A guitar-playing country boy steals money from a neighbor and heads for Nashville to make a name for himself. En route he is beaten up and has his guitar broken by hoodlums. Destitute, he is befriended by Opal and Matt Nelson and introduced to Rev. Rose Conley, a preacher who gives him work as a handy man and rehabilitates him.
