Jack Lemmon plays a harried insurance company clerk who finds he can accelerate his climb up the corporate ladder by lending his many bosses his apartment for their extra-marital rendezvous. Things get complicated when Lemmon falls in love with his ultimate boss' girlfriend Shirley MacLaine.
