Hellraiser reboot director David Bruckner is set to helm another horror classic, having recently signed on to write and direct a reimagining of The Blob for Warner Bros. Discovery.
Larry Hagman made a sequel to the film in 1972, titled Beware! The Blob, before a super gory and super great remake of the original hit theaters in 1988, in which the pink, gelatinous Blob transformed into a biological weapon created by the military during an experiment led by sociopathic scientist Dr. Christopher Meddows.
Bruckner is no stranger to the horror genre, having previously helmed the likes of The Ritual and The Night House, as well as 2022's Hellraiser reboot for Hulu. His fresh take on The Blob is already taking shape with a team comprising producers David Goyer and Keith Levine, plus Judith Harris as executive producer.
The Blob remake is in safe hands, with Bruckner's reboot of Clive Barker's 1987 horror classic Hellraiser likely still fresh in people's memories. Bruckner put a new spin on the Hellraiser lore in 2022 in a film that IGN praised as "a reinvigorated reboot that gets the blood pumping," as well as one of the best horror movies of the year.
