  2. A decent and watchable final American film for Laurel and Hardy. planktonrules 24 May 2008. Of all the six films Laurel and Hardy made for Fox Studios, THE BULLFIGHTERS is probably the second best of the lot and as such wasn't a bad way for the team to finish their last American film.

There’s still some sparks here, but it’s a salient look at an act which long since ran on fumes and nostalgia, struggling and failing to find the energy needed to make things work.

  8. Review by JamesLNeibaur ★★★★½. This one was made later in Laurel and Hardy's career (it was their last film but one, and their final American movie), so they are older, but no less funny. Stan and Ollie are private detectives who go to Mexico in order to capture an elusive female criminal.
