This episode of The Good Cop opens with the escape of a man named Sherman Smalls (John Caroll Lynch) from prison and the subsequent manhunt. It appears that he killed a woman in a nearby cabin, brutally attacking and overpowering her husband. Hair and blood were both left at the scene, positively connecting Sherman to the murder.
The Good Cop Show Summary Big Tony is a lovable, but not exactly honorable, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr., a straight-laced NYPD detective who always follows the rules while solving Brooklyn's toughest cases.
Lynch proves to be a good guest-star despite some questionable writing. “Who is the Ugly German Lady?” is a goofy episode that takes Junior far too long to see through Sherman’s questionable disguise (especially after they share a meal together). The framing of the episode also leaves no doubt from the opening scene who the real killer is.

The father (Tony Danza) is supposed to be an ex-cop turned bad (guilty of white collar crime) who used to be very good at his job. Sofar he's just been portrait as a buffoon with the brain capacity of a lobotomized chimp.
