The Protector (Turkish: Hakan: Muhafız) is a Turkish drama fantasy series, created by Binnur Karaevli.

"Discovering his ties to a secret ancient order, a young man living in modern Istanbul embarks on a quest to save the city from an immortal enemy."

    —Netflix Synopsis

Season 1: The series follows the epic adventure of Hakan, a young shopkeeper whose modern world gets turned upside down when he learns he’s connected to a secret, ancient order, tasked with protecting Istanbul. At the story’s start, Hakan couldn’t be further from a hero — just an ordinary guy in this city of 15 million, where East meets West and past meets present. He must quickly learn that his hometown is under threat from the mysterious, mystical Immortals, and it’s his job to stop them. It’s a task he’s not only unprepared for, but resists — will he fulfill his destiny as the last protector?

Season 2: Hakan must now face not one, but all seven Immortals, with each of them determined to destroy Istanbul and the world itself. As Protector, Hakan will fight to stop them — all while leading the Loyal Ones, loving Leyla and trying to survive a new arrival: His long-lost brother, who considers himself the rightful Protector. Hakan's life turns upside down at Hagia Sophia as Leyla awakes after the fatal move. But that's not the only surprise for him. The Loyal Ones are apart and angry at Hakan for his mistakes... There is only one thing that stays the same: His love for Zeynep... Immortals are back and hungry to attack. Even though Hakan deeply feels angry at himself for failing his mission, he has to use that rage to turn the tables and learn how to control it... This is no longer hide and seek. Now Istanbul is a battlefield... Hakan’s questioning now turns into acceptance and showing the world he will live up to the duty! But doing that, Hakan has to face his biggest fear: to lose the people he loves.
