The Recruit. Premise: Newly hired CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo) discovers a former asset (Laura Haddock) is threatening to expose the agency's secrets unless they clear her for a serious crime in this spy thriller from Alexi Hawley.
The show does not spoon feed how to differentiate important tone changes and jokes but that's part of fun and I think why "reviewers" are missing the point. There are plenty of chances to figure it out though like watching as each character comedically and vehemently avoids being briefed on cases.
