The Movie: Tokyo Kaiju Showdown (ウルトラマンブレーザー THE MOVIE 大怪獣首都激突, Urutoraman Burēzā Za Mūbī Dai Kaijū Shuto Gekitotsu) is a 2024 Japanese tokusatsu movie set after Ultraman Blazar.
First announced on November 25, 2023 at TSUBURAYA CONVENTION 2023's opening ceremony, the movie was released in theaters in Japan on February 23, 2024. An early premiere was held on February 7 at Grand Cinema Sunshine in Ikebukuro for 50 TSUBURAYA IMAGINATION premium users who won a lottery, where it was announced that the cast would be touring screenings across Japan as well as Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
A wave of kaiju emerges from an industrial area in Tokyo, prompting Captain Gento and the Special Kaiju Reaction Detachment (SKaRD) to engage in the relentless battle. Yet despite their efforts, the endless kaiju attack continues. Suspecting a link to Necromass Co., an advanced chemical company that researches kaiju carcasses and owns factories in the industrial area where the monsters came from, SKaRD rushes to the company’s CEO and renowned chemist, Dr. Mabuse.
At Necromass Co.'s research facility, Dr. Mabuse explains the development of the damudoxin, a substance on the brink of achieving immortality. Meanwhile, Alien Damuno, who claims themselves as the "ruler of the universe" appears! Chaos ensues when damudoxin leaks from the destroyed tanks, consuming samples of kaiju carcasses and giving rise to the giant Gongilgan, the Demonic Carcass. Set in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, Ultraman Blazar and SKaRD clash in a showdown against the giant kaiju!

At the early premiere held on February 7, it was announced that the cast members would also be touring screenings for Ultraman Blazar The Movie: Tokyo Kaiju Showdown in several Asian territories, including Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. •Indonesia: The premiere screening was held on March 9 and was attended by Tomoya Warabino, Hayate Kajihara, and Yuki Ito, and with special appearances by Ultraman Blazar and Earth Garon. It was held in collaboration with RTV Indonesia and ran alongside Ultra Heroes Tour South East Asia 2024, which was held from March 1 to March 10, 2024. The cast members also visited the RTV Indonesia headquarters to promote the movie. Furthermore, the first ever Ultraman Cafe was opened at the Akihabara Cafe in the Mall of Indonesia in commemoration. •Thailand: The premiere screening was held on March 16 and was attended by Tomoya Warabino, Konomi Naito, and MindaRyn, with a special live show featuring Ultraman Blazar, Earth Garon, and Infinite. It was held in collaboration with DEX. The cast members were also invited to Channel 7HD to speak about the movie. •Taiwan: The premiere screening was held on March 30 and was attended by Tomoya Warabino and Himena Tsukimiya, with a special live show featuring Ultraman Blazar, Earth Garon, Dada, and Kyrieloid II. It was held in collaboration with Beast Kingdom. A limited-time pop-up store and a meet-and-greet session were also held to promote the movie. •Hong Kong: The premiere screening was held on April 6 and was attended by Tomoya Warabino, with a special live show featuring Ultraman Blazar. It was held in collaboration with Neofilms.
Grand Finale
On May 12, 2024, the Ultraman Blazar The Movie Grand Finale Stage Greeting event will be held for its final screening in the Marunouchi Piccadilly, Tokyo. The event will be attended by Tomoya Warabino, Himena Tsukimiya, Konomi Naito, and Hayate Kajihara, with a special appearance by Yuki Totsuka, who plays Yuma Hize in Ultraman Arc. Furthermore, Ultraman Blazar and the new hero Ultraman Arc will appear for a meet-and-greet session and the annual Baton Touch of Light (光の「バトンタッチ」, Hikari no Baton Tacchi) ceremony to signify the passing of the torch to the next generation.

The menu featured mains, desserts, and drinks themed after Blazar, Earth Garon, and the show's kaiju roster. Additionally, various character goods were sold at the collaboration cafe. •Enjoy Ultra AR! in AEON (ウルトラARで楽しもう！in AEON, Urutora AR De Tanoshimou! in AEON): A limited-time campaign where people could take photos with Ultraman Blazar characters in AR by scanning special QR codes at participating AEON locations across the country. People who participated in the special missions were also awarded a special digital wallpaper. •Ultraman POP-UP STORE (ウルトラマンPOP-UP STORE, Urutoraman POP-UP STORE): Pop-up stores held in six Miraiya Shoten locations ran from February to mid-April, selling a variety of Ultraman Blazar The Movie-related goods. •TX × Ryutetsu Ultra Stamp Rally (ＴＸ×流鉄 ウルトラスタンプラリー, Tsukubua Ekusupuresu × Ryūtetsu Urutora Sutanpu Rarī): From March 23 to May 6, 2024, passengers embarking on trains along the TX (Tsukuba Express) and Nagareyama lines could collect Ultraman Blazar stamps from the seven participating stations, and exchange them for limited edition Ultra Stamp Rally train cards. Furthermore, by answering a questionnaire 30 lucky passengers stood a chance to win from one of three prizes, including an Ultraman Blazar Firdran Armor limited soft vinyl figure.
The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 24, 2024. The Blu-ray also contains promotional events and trailers, an audio commentary by the cast and director, a making-of, and the two-part Special Voice Drama.
