The Wilds is way off the beaten path, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there. Columbus is 1.5 hours west of here and even Zanesville is a thirty minute drive. 16 mile drive from the I-70 freeway exit in an extremely rural part of Ohio.

One of Ohio’s most unique destinations is right here in Muskingum County. A place where threatened and endangered animals from all over the world – rhinos, giraffes, antelope and now cheetahs – live in mixed-species groups, roaming expansive natural habitats.
The Wilds is a private, non-profit safari park and conservation center that combines conservation science and education programs. The park also offers visitors leisure activities such as ziplining, horseback riding, and fishing.
The Wilds is a wildlife conservation center on 10,000 acres of former mining land donated by AEP. The biggest draw is probably the wildlife - zebras, giraffes, rhinos, camels, and other non-carnivorous animals are free to roam as they please.
