As you head away from town, you’ll experience a quick shift in terrain as the desert golds fade in. McCarran Park, river right (just past the Labor Union building) near Tracy, is a popular place to enter and exit the river, surrounded by cottonwood trees in a park restored by the Nature Conservancy.
A better way to do the shuttle is to drop your tubes at the Regional Park and drive to the Glenshire Bridge. Park the car, ride/push your mountain bikes upstream around the first bend on a fisherman's trail, then pick up the paved Legacy Trail and pedal back to the park. Lock up your bikes, grab your tubes, and float back to the bridge.
