FYI, the walk to "Entry Point A" is about 100 yards from Tube Haus.

As you head away from town, you’ll experience a quick shift in terrain as the desert golds fade in. McCarran Park, river right (just past the Labor Union building) near Tracy, is a popular place to enter and exit the river, surrounded by cottonwood trees in a park restored by the Nature Conservancy.

The biggest drop, called Drop #5, lies below the island, where the 2 river channels come back together. Scout this feature before paddling through. Avoid the shallow chute on the far right. All tubers and casual paddlers should get off the river here. One Truckee River highly recommends hiring a guide for travel through the Glendale Dam Diversion.

There are a number of similar rocky stretches of the Truckee downstream that are also great for tubing: like Mayberry Crossing to the Reno Riverpark. But, if you want to not worry about rocks, the most popular stretch (from Lake Tahoe to River Ranch) is a better choice.
