Meanwhile, Trump's choice of former San Francisco venture capitalist J.D. Vance for a running mate raised the hopes of Silicon Valley conservatives that they stand to gain from having a fellow "tech bro" within reach of the White House for the first time. But despite his background, Vance has said that large tech companies have too much influence and called for Google to be broken up. That jibes with the Trump administration's investigations into Meta, Amazon, Apple and Google over alleged antitrust violations, but may not sit well with Trump's overall pro-business policies. "If JD goes against him," said Conzo, "I think he's gonna run up against the brick wall, as many other people have - right, wrong or indifferent."
