The United Artists Theater has reopened alongside the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles late in 2013. Ace, operator of the theater, was drawn to the building because of its intriguing history as the flagship theater for a group of great artists rebelling against the Hollywood studio system, as well as its strong aesthetic identity.

Closing: The theatre closed in 1990. At the time United Artists Theatre Circuit was also operating the UA Marketplace 6 in downtown Pasadena. For years after closing as a theatre the building was used as a retail store, Angels School Supply.
