Ranger talks are offered most days. The park has a picnic area, Log House for special events, and several short trails.

Jun 11, 2024 · It encompasses 551 acres of land where seven generations of the Washington family lived and where George Washington was born in 1732. The park was also central to one of the earliest efforts to memorialize George Washington during the celebration of his bicentennial birth anniversary in 1932.
It commemorates the birthplace location of George Washington, a Founding Father and the first President of the United States, who was born here on February 22, 1732. Washington lived at the residence until age three and later returned to live there as a teenager.
Original granite memorial that marked the Washington birth site at George Washington Birthplace National Monument. Surveys of the property began in 1895 to prepare for the obelisk. During this time the 60-square-foot lot was excavated and a two room building foundation was discovered.
