Ruby Carter, the American Beauty queen of the night club-sporting world, shifts her operations from St. Louis to New Orleans (which kind of belies the Western genre designation), mostly to get away from prizefighter Tiger Kid.
In New Orleans, Ruby becomes the object of Ace's girlfriend Molly Brant's jealousy, while becoming a big success with the men of New Orleans. Among them is the wealthy Brooks Claybourne, who gives Ruby diamonds.
