  2. The sonata is laid out in four movements : Allegro ( F minor) Adagio ( F major) Menuetto – Allegretto (F minor – Trio in F major) Prestissimo (F minor) I. Allegro. The first movement, in cut common time, is in the tonic key of F minor and in conventional sonata form, as was typical at Beethoven's time.
