The WWE Championship is a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship in WWE, currently defended on the SmackDown brand. It was the first world title established in WWE, at the time known as the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), having been introduced in 1963 as the WWWF World Heavyweight Championship.
As of September 12, 2024, among the three current brands, 20 wrestlers officially hold championships (including one double champion). This list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of title victory.

The title was introduced in 1963 with Buddy Rogers becoming the first champion. Its backstory began in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), which had various territorial member promotions.
