Has anyone recently used the TSA security checkpoint at the Westin Hotel in the Detroit Metropolitan Airport? I was planning on meeting my brother at the hotel during a long layover before my flight. Some past posts indicated that the wait at this TSA checkpoint can be long. Thanks for any feedback.

Aug 23, 2018 · I stayed in this otherwise very nice hotel specifically because of the advertised TSA Security checkpoint so I could catch an early flight. I checked out one hour before my 7:45 am flight departure time only to find the line stretched out into the lobby already!

Mar 31, 2024 · Detroit Metropolitan Airport has multiple security checkpoints located in both the McNamara Terminal and the North Terminal. In the McNamara Terminal, there are two checkpoints located on the ticketing level, one near the Delta Airlines ticket counter and the other near the American Airlines ticket counter.
The hotel is directly connected to the airport. There is Tsa security gate from the hotel, it is not open 24 hours though. If it is closed, you simply take the escalator to the main level. Not sure if you are asking about assistance getting to the gates, but that always can be arranged.
