If you're looking for court records from a case filed in federal court, you can find it by searching on the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) website at https://www.pacer.gov.
You can find most public court records for free with online resources and a little search time. Assemble all the information you can about the lawsuit or court action. Important information includes the names of the parties, the court of record, the number assigned by the court, the date of filing the first pleading and the category of the lawsuit.

All bankruptcy courts have a telephone information system, also known as the Voice Case Information System, that enables callers to obtain basic case information through a touchtone phone. This is free to use and available 24 hours a day.
