The Texas juvenile justice system is administered primarily by local juvenile probation departments and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). Local juvenile probation departments provide services to juveniles that are referred to or supervised by them in the community.
The Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) is a state agency in Texas, headquartered in the Central Services Building (CSB) in Austin. It was created on December 1, 2011, replacing the Texas Youth Commission and the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission .
