The city is situated on the northern part of the Sunshine Coast in Southwestern British Columbia along the Malaspina Straight which is part of the larger Georgia Strait.

This route goes to the Tin Hat Hut on the summit of the mountain. The trail is a grind but it is relatively flat for the first five kilometres. Once the ascent begins there are two short segments where the terrains levels out, followed by a final two kilometre segment to the summit.
