Feb 12, 2024 · WASHINGTON — A new 11-state survey (AR, ID, MS, MO, MT, NE, ND, OH, OK, SD, UT) released by the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (in partnership with EMC Research and North Star Opinion Research) shows strong support for citizen-led ballot initiatives across party lines.
The citizen initiative process enables citizens to bypass their state legislature by placing proposed statutes and, in some states, constitutional amendments on the ballot. Twenty-four states have citizen initiative processes.
