- 3.1 Private, public and criminal law: conceptual distinctions. If we ask the question of ‘what law does’, the answer is as simple as it is complex: law creates legal effect.
- 3.2 Private law. Private law can be subdivided in e.g.: family law (marriage, inheritance); contract law (general, specific); property law (transfer of ownership); and tort law (general, specific).
