Nov 10, 2011 · Ken Elton Kesey (September 17, 1935 – November 10, 2001) was an American novelist, essayist and countercultural figure. He considered himself a link between the Beat Generation of the 1950s and the hippies of the 1960s.
On May 20, 1956, while at the university, Kesey married his childhood sweetheart, Faye Haxby. Experienced Dramatic Life Change. Kesey earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1957 and returned home to Eugene, where he worked in the dairy business for a year.
