Squire Maugridge Boone Jr. (October 5, 1744 – August 5, 1815) was an American frontiersman, longhunter, soldier, city planner, politician, land locator, judge, politician, gunsmith, miller, and younger brother of Daniel Boone.
Squire Boone Sr. was not a Justice of the Peace or Magistrate in Pennsylvania, but he evidently did serve as a J.P. in NC (see the following article). Also, he had no military claims (The Quakers didn’t approve of guns!).
Squire Boone, pioneer settler in Western Piedmont North Carolina and father of Daniel Boone, was born in Devonshire, England. His father was George Boone III; his mother was Mary Milton Maugridge. The family were members of the Society of Friends.

Squire Boone , Sr married Sarah Morgan, daughter of Edward Morgan and Elizabeth Jarman, on 17 July 1720. Squire Boone, Sr died on 2 January 1765 at Rowan County, North Carolina, at age 68.
