  1. SpongeBob seems to be the best and the worst best friend, to everybody he meets/befriends. In every episode with the premise of “SpongeBob helps <blank>”, it’s 15 minutes of him screwing everything up (unintentionally, but still).

  2. Jun 26, 2023 · MORDECAI: ONE OF THE WORST FRIENDS IN CARTOON HISTORY. Last video got more support than I expected, so I dropped another one. This took a little bit, so if this video gets similar support,...

  3. I'm honestly surprised Eric Cartman didn't make the list. He's a HORRIBLE friend to Butters, Stan, Kenny and especially to Kyle. He locked Butters up so he could go to Casa Bonita. He almost always mistreated Kyle for being a redhead and Jewish, even planned to kill him at one point. Even gave Kyle AIDS.

  4. Have to disagree with you, she's not the worst... listed here. Yeah, she treats her best friend with less respect than the bullies, but at least she never pu a bullet in her arm via hunting rifle!

Shredder is the main antagonist in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but only because his comrade Krang is unable to execute his vision through socially acceptable channels. A would-be warlord from Dimension X, Krang was exiled to Earth and reduced to what amounts to a brain with a face on the front. The problem with Krang isn't that he's hyper-intelli...

The 1950s were a Golden Age of animated shorts, with Walt Disney Pictures leading the way. Other studios had animation departments of their own, though not all enjoyed the long-term success that Disney and Warner Bros. did. Baby Huey was a product of Paramount's Famous Studios, who owned many of the Fleischers' properties such as Popeye and Superma...

"Jumping the Shark" famously refers to a point in a TV show's history when it passes its creative peak and begins an inexorable decline. The moment is usually marked by some kind of overt ratings gimmick, such as the introduction of a new character or an inexplicable change in locale. With The Flintstones, that moment came with the Great Gazoo: a l...

Within the cynical and exaggerated world of Family Guy, Vinny the dog is actually one of the kinder characters. Despite the show's overuse of Italian-American stereotypes, Vinny's personality and actions aren't what mobilized fans against him. Instead, Vinny earned the hatred of the show's fandom by being the in-universe and out-of-universe replace...

Arthurhas had a legion of characters over its 25 seasons and produced very few who have struck the wrong note with audiences, and even fewer of those have been recurring characters. Nonetheless, the Tibble twins — the D.W.-aged neighbors of Arthur and D.W. — rub many of the show's fans the wrong way. They originally appeared as a way of teaching Ar...

Sparky's inclusion in The Fairly Oddparents'sninth season was seen by many as an attempt to add another child-friendly character to an already jampacked cast. He's another in a long line of late-inning characters who arrive in an effort to shake up the formula, only to cause far more damage than they repair. Aside from issues with continuity, this ...

The Simpsonsis legendary for its very large cast of side characters, many of whom are eternally memorable, with unique personalities, depth, and even storylines of their own. On the other hand, the so-called Yes Guy is a flat, meaningless character who only appears in scenes to say the word "yes," often using an elongated and exaggerated vo...

Rick and Morty is filled with zany characters, many of whom serve no purpose whatsoever, but Gearhead is arguably the most insignificant. He's intended as a riff on gimmicky action figures of the Masters of the Universevariety and has earned the fandom's anger due to his antagonistic attitude, even though Rick tries to maintain a good relat...

The Smurfs grew out of a series of comics from Belgian writer/artist Peyo, who first depicted the little blue spirits living in mushroom houses in the woods. In 1981, an animated series from Hanna Barberaaired on Saturday mornings and helped define the decade in pop culture before ending its run in 1989. Each Smurf was famously designed around a si...

Comedian John Oliver once described Caillouas "a children's show about a bald Canadian child who lives a life devoid of any incident" before descending into angry expletives. The show tends to have that effect on viewers. Caillou is benevolent, curious, and adventurous: uncharacteristically mature personality traits for a four-year-old boy....
