The Texas Amphitheater is the largest permanent outdoor amphitheater in the state of Texas. It opened in 1989, built as the perfect home for The Promise in Glen Rose. The $8.5 million venue, which is now available for outside rentals, has 3,250 fixed seats and the capacity to seat a total of 5,000, including its bleachers and lawn.
Glen Rose. Designed by Peter Wolf of Dallas, Texas, to take advantage of the rolling hills near Glen Rose, as a backdrop, the musical is produced outdoors on a large scale each summer at the Texas Amphitheatre and is performed from September until November annually.
