The organization is passionate about being a place of refuge for anyone fleeing an abusive and oppressive environment. Providing transitional housing, recovery, community outreach, food and more, the Short Creek Dream Center serves the twin towns of Hilldale and Colorado City.
Jun 14, 2022 · A real estate boom is transforming Short Creek as outsiders and former FLDS members take over. The block-long FLDS meeting house is being turned into a community center.
Founded in 2017, the Short Creek Dream Center opened to provide a safe space for women and children escaping human trafficking and domestic violence. The Center provides shelter, food, and life enrichment classes to its residents for free with the goal of directly supporting those escaping abuse and finding a new life.
