I recently read The Long Halloween because I had only ever heard praise for it. That got me to look into Jeph Loeb’s stories, and I was shocked to found out that he was the person who wrote Ultimatum in 2009. I know what Ultimatum is, and how unnecessary most of its contents were.

May 27, 2014 · Jeph Loeb’s script for Wolverine/Gambit is decidedly more problematic. Wolverine and Gambit were phenomenally popular characters in a phenomenally popular franchise – it made sense for Marvel to try to leverage that success. Unfortunately, much of Wolverine/Gambit feels rather paint-by-numbers.
