Nubian goat’s milk offers one of the highest butterfat levels of all dairy breeds, making them very desirable for cheese and yogurt making. Saco River Farms is a member of the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA).
Male and female goats are available year round for sale at Saco River Farms. Female goats are referred to as Does. Intact Males are Bucks. Neutered males are called Whethers. When buying a goat for breeding, it is also important to know some other terminology. A goat’s mother is referred to as the “Dam” and its father the “Sire”.
