First of all, the update required message appears because the YouTube app (client) is connecting to the (server) and connecting to the APIs on the (server) but as of now, the (server) is rejecting the client because it is out of date, hence the update required message.
Feb 15, 2021 · On my old iPad mini (iOS 9.3.5) I only watch YT but recently the app has collapsed. It now requires "update or exit it" almost every 10 mins. I turned off all updates, restored the app from "purchased" however it is still asking for updates. Is there a way to fix it?
Feb 9, 2021 · For now, there is one last thing you can try/attempt, if you need an older version of an app for these 8-10 year old iOS devices. If you own much newer iOS device that can run either iOS 12 and.or iOS/iPadOS 13 and later, you can install the most recent app/s onto that more recent iOS device.
