IMSA Prototype Challenge (formerly IMSA Prototype Lites) was a racing series featuring two classes of single-seat prototype cars racing simultaneously. The series was sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).
The 2022 IMSA Prototype Challenge was the seventeenth and final season of the IMSA Lites series and its successors, and the sixth under the IMSA Prototype Challenge name. The season started on January 21 at Daytona International Speedway and concluded on October 1 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Oct 24, 2023 · DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Officials from Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) today confirmed plans for a new, six-event series for current and previous-generation Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) race cars beginning in 2024.
THE CLASSES. The IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge is a multi-class sprint racing series debuting in 2023. The lead LMP3 class features entry level, closed cockpit prototype race cars, while the production-based GSX class will utilize race cars built to international GT4 technical regulations.
The 2020 IMSA Prototype Challenge is the fifteenth season of the IMSA Lites series and its successors and the fourth season as the IMSA Prototype Challenge. The opening race of the season was on January 4 at the Daytona International Speedway and the season concludes on October 9 at Road Atlanta.
Oct 10, 2021 · Lindh successfully survived a 360-degree on-track whirl midway through Sunday’s IMSA Prototype Challenge race at VIRginia International Raceway, lost the lead on a late restart and then made a bold pass on the final lap to collect the victory with co-driver Dan Goldburg in the No. 6 Performance Tech Motorsports Ligier JS P320.

Aug 7, 2021 · The IMSA Prototype Challenge series returns in 2022 with a five-race calendar. Only LMP3 cars homologated in 2020 or updated EVO cars will be eligible. The season opens with a three-hour race as part of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 At Daytona weekend on Jan. 21-23.

Jul 3, 2022 · The Estonian dominated the first hour at CTMP, then fended off a late challenge following the only full-course caution of the 90-minute race for Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) cars. He won for the second straight time this season and extended his championship lead.
