Synopsis. Daniel Pearl (Dan Futterman) and Marianne Pearl (Angelina Jolie) are married to each other and both reporters. They are friends of Asra Q. Nomani (Archie Panjabi) in Karachi (Pakistan). Daniel contacts Sheikh Gilani (a jehadi) to conduct an interview, and is abducted.
