Ada Township (/ ˈ eɪ d ə / AY-də) is a civil township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 14,388 at the 2020 census. The majority of the township is included in the Forest Hills census-designated place, which is used only for statistical purposes.
Ada Township features more than 1,000 acres of public land, including four community parks and miles of trails. Ada, Michigan, is the perfect place to live, work and play, located directly east of Grand Rapids.
The department reviews all plans, issues permits and inspects and maintains records on all Ada Township construction projects. Inspectors are registered by the State of Michigan in one or more of the building trades as well as plan review.

Located at the Ada History Center, the Averill Historical Museum operates in an 1870s farmhouse and barn owned by Ada Township. The museum opened on July 4, 1999. The museum features permanent exhibits on Ada history and temporary exhibit space that changes annually.
