The county park and parking area is right across the road from the falls - easy to have good vantage point. Rest rooms are closed, but Port a potty in place.
The mesic upland forest is carpeted by a rich diversity of spring wildflowers; the dry-mesic upland forest harbors summer species such as tall coreopsis under majestic white oaks. The focal point of the park is the 14-foot high waterfall that occurs where Louisville Limestone overlies the less resilient Waldron Shale.
There is a river crossing at the beginning of the trail so prepare to get wet! Hikers have reported some trail markers facing the wrong direction, so downloading the map ahead of time is advised.
