Austell is a city in Cobb and Douglas counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 7,713. History. Game hunters and trappers frequently went through the area that is now Austell on their way to the area's salt licks.
