Black God (Japanese: 黒神, Hepburn: Kuro Kami) is a Japanese-Korean manga series written by Dall-Young Lim and illustrated by Park Sung-woo. Square Enix published the manga in Japan's bi-monthly seinen magazine Young Gangan. The story is initially set in modern-day Tokyo, then changes to the island of Okinawa in the middle of the story.
According to one version of the Navajo creation story, Black God is first encountered by First Man and First Woman on the Yellow (third) world. Black God is, first and foremost, a fire god. He is the inventor of the fire drill and was the first being to discover the means by which to generate fire. [2]
Kurokami / Black God is about a refugee mototsumitama, Kuro, who comes to Earth to seek revenge on and kill the most powerful motosumitama. She meets and saves the life of Ibuki Keita , when he tries to intervene in a fight between mototsumitamas and is mortally wounded.
The Black God holds a significant role in Navajo mythology, being attributed as the creator of fire and stars. With a distinct appearance adorned by symbols such as a crescent moon, full moon, and Pleiades, the Black God is associated with witchcraft and wears a deer skin mask.
