Jun 2, 2021 · Go north one-half mile. At the T-intersection of Gull Avenue and 315th Street, you will see a large set of “Buddy Holly” glasses. Walk along the south side of the fence row to the west about one-quarter mile. A small memorial is located at the place the plane came to rest.
Most visitors don't realize that as they stand to the south of the memorial, snapping photos, they're literally on the spot where Buddy Holly's body was thrown from the plane, as seen in grim newspaper photos displayed at the Surf.
