Daniel John Haren (born September 17, 1980) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Haren played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, and Chicago Cubs.
In June of 2008, Dan Haren Sr., along with his son, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Danny Haren, approached the D-Backs with the concept of creating a baseball stadium specifically designed for children with special needs.

The father-son duo first presented their idea to the Diamondbacks in 2008: Create a baseball stadium specifically designed for children, teens and adults with disabilities or special health care needs.
