Danny Boyle was born on 20 October 1956, [1] in Radcliffe, Lancashire, England, about 6 mi (9.7 km) north of Manchester 's city centre, to Irish parents Frank and Annie Boyle, both from County Galway. He has a twin sister, Marie, and a younger sister, Bernadette, both of whom are teachers. [2] [3]
