Fort Lupton, located in the city of the same name, [1] was a trading post from 1836 [2] [3] or 1837 to 1844. [4] After operating as a stage coach station and used as a house, the building fell into disrepair and crumbled to all but a portion of one wall by the early 20th century.
Fort Lupton, Colorado. Established in 1836, the city of Fort Lupton is a small town straddling the front range and plains in northern Colorado. It is located just north of Brighton on U.S. Route 85. Situated at 4,908 feet of elevation within Weld County, the town had a population of 7,955 in 2020.
