Henry James "Hank" Moody is the main character of Californication, with the show revolving around him trying to fix his relationship with his daughter Rebecca and his on and off again girlfriend Karen, while also battling with alcoholism, drug abuse and sex addiction.
According to this link he was 45 in season one. I don't remember it being stated explicitly in the show anywhere, and I have to admit I'm one of those "Season 4 Abandoners", but I felt like at least one episode addressed his birthday. I'd have to revisit the show from the beginning to be sure.
