The Houston Police Department is currently hiring for our upcoming 2023 academy classes, which are held approximately every three months. The application process takes approximately 90 to 180 days to complete and consists of six phases.
Requirements. You must have at least of the following four qualifications: At least 48 semester hours of credit, in any area of study, from an accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 grade point average; OR. A minimum of 18 months active duty in the United States Armed Forces and received an Honorable Discharge; OR.
