Johnson State College was a public liberal arts college in Johnson, Vermont. Founded in 1828 by John Chesamore, in 2018 Johnson State College was merged with the former Lyndon State College to create Northern Vermont University.
The Johnson Campus of Vermont State University offers students an immersive, high-impact, liberal arts experience in a gorgeous mountain setting. Our nationally recognized liberal arts programs will arm you with the kind of college education employers seek.
The Johnson campus offers four on-campus living options: three residence halls and on-campus apartments. Each residence hall floor is staffed by an undergraduate Resident Assistant (RA), with a Hall Advisor overseeing the entire building.
