Jan 3, 2023 · Looking at the latest ECMWF ensemble weekly forecast, I consider the forecast supportive of the potential for a sudden stratospheric warming as early as late January. Just my impression. And that’s what shoves the cold air down? Just trying to understand.

Oct 4, 2022 · Judah Cohen. @judah47. My first Siberian #snow cover extent plot of 2022! Snow cover came in hot to start October but as you can see has since flat lined. But to be fair when snow extent gets ahead of climatology it tends to stall.

Dr. Judah Cohen is Director of Seasonal Forecasting and a principal scientist at Verisk Atmospheric and Environmental Research. In addition, he is a Visiting Scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Parsons Lab, which is part of the Civil and Environmental engineering department.

Dr. Judah Cohen is Director of Seasonal Forecasting and Principal Scientist at Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER). In addition to his research interests on the polar vortex and Arctic mid-latitude linkages, Cohen is leading AER's development of seasonal forecast products and machine learning models for subseasonal (3-6 weeks) forecasts.
