Kathryn Valentine (born January 7, 1959) is an American musician who is the bassist for the rock band the Go-Go's. She has maintained a career in music through songwriting, recording, performing and touring as well as additional academic and creative pursuits.
Kathy Valentine has been a working musician and songwriter for over 40 years, ever since she started her first band, at age 16, in her hometown of Austin. After moving to Los Angeles, Kathy joined a band that would go on to make music history: The Go-Go's.

Jun 30, 2022 · I’m Kathy Valentine. And I can speak for all of The Go-Go’s when I say we are are so happy and excited and proud to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Being in a band is a trip. It’s kind of like a marriage—in our case, a polygamous same-sex marriage that has divorced and remarried and divorced and remarried.
After making music for 45 years, Kathy Valentine is keeping the beat in a completely different way. As one-fifth of The Go-Go’s, she helped create some of their most memorable songs, including Vacation (which she co-wrote), We Got the Beat, Our Lips Our Sealed, and Head Over Heels.
