Apr 14, 2021 · Lake Arthur is located completely inside Moraine State Park in Butler County, Pennsylvania. Situated just east of I-79 about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh, the park is easy to access from Erie or Pittsburgh.
Rent a pontoon boat, kayak, or canoe and explore the 3,225-acre lake. Try your hand at the challenging 18-hole disc golf course. Visit the waterfowl observation deck for a chance to see ducks, loons, bald eagles, osprey, and great blue herons.
Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park is a popular place because the lake spans over 3,000 acres with 42 miles of shoreline and features spectacular views of the park. The water also stays fairly calm, as only 20hp motors are permitted for other boaters.
The park includes a man-made lake, Lake Arthur, formed by impounding Muddy Creek, which is 3,225 acres (1,305 ha) and is used for recreational purposes. The surrounding park is used for hiking, bicycling, group camping, picnicking, and hunting.
The 3,225-acre Lake Arthur has nine public boat launches. Sailing conditions are ideal; and races, regattas, and sailing instruction classes are held throughout the summer. Boating is prohibited in the Game Propagation area and near the dam.

Mar 15, 2022 · Lake Arthur is a popular destination for camping, swimming, fishing, boating, biking and hiking trails, and its shallow waters are stocked with game fish (catfish, muskies, striped bass, walleye) and are home to great blue heron, green-backed heron, belted kingfisher, loons and even rare ospreys.
The 3,225-acre Lake Arthur is a warmwater fishery. Common species are: Northern pike. Largemouth bass. Channel catfish. Black crappie. Bluegill. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks: Muskellunge. Walleye. Channel catfish. Hybrid striped bass. This activity or structure is ADA accessible.

May 12, 2021 · Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park is one of our favorite outdoor spots in southwest Pennsylvania. It is hard to ask for more than a beautiful lake with a number of fingers and inlets that just beg being explored.
