The License Event Notification Service (LENS) can supply important information about the driving qualifications of drivers that you employ or regulate. Organizations that use LENS can quickly identify their problem drivers, and focus efforts to improve safety and decrease vulnerability.
To receive a notification of drivers' Med Cert, log in to LENS and follow the steps listed below. Accept the Terms of Service. Drivers can also monitor their own CLP/CDL Medical Certification status through MyDMV and subscribe for text and/or email notifications. Sample Medical Certification Notification.
To see if a New York license or ID number has been assigned to your out-of-state driver, please contact LENS with the driver's name, date of birth, and the state they are licensed in. If we find a license or ID number, we will send it to you and you can add it to your roster.

You must pass a vision test when you apply for a driver license or to renew your license. The test must show that you have visual acuity of at least 20/40 (based on the Snellen Visual Acuity Scale) in either or both eyes, with or without corrective lenses.
