Mast cell degranulation is a central event in the development of the lesions in urticaria, and histamine levels are elevated in biopsied skin. Of note, however, the connective tissue mast cell number in patients with CU (chymase- and tryptase-positive mast cells) is not increased in either lesional or non-lesional skin in comparison with the ...

Jan 6, 2016 · Mast Cell: A Multi-Functional Master Cell. Mast cells are immune cells of the myeloid lineage and are present in connective tissues throughout the body. The activation and degranulation of mast cells significantly modulates many aspects of physiological and pathological conditions in various settings.

Upon stimulation, mast cells secrete preformed mediators (Table 5) such as β-hexosaminidase (β-hex), histamine, tumor necrosis factor (TNF), and tryptase through rapid (1–5 min) degranulation. Mast cells are the only cell type that stores preformed TNF , which is rapidly secreted and influences T cell recruitment and activation [33–35].

Oct 5, 2021 · Also, both species show IgE-mediated mast cell degranulation, and type I hypersensitivity reactions triggered by mast cells are similar in mice and humans. However, specific differences exist.

As described elsewhere in this overview, KIT is an essential growth and anti-apoptotic factor for the generation of mast cells from progenitors and for the subsequent survival of mature, tissue-resident mast cells. SCF-dependent KIT activation, however, also enhances antigen-mediated mast cell degranulation and cytokine production.
Mar 14, 2024 · Inflammasome components mediate MC degranulation. Because single-cell transcriptomic analysis reported that Nlrp3 and Asc, but not Caspase-1 mRNA, were constitutively expressed in mouse MCs at the ...

Mast Cell Degranulation. Mast cell degranulation is triggered upon binding of the cognate antigen to the IgE-primed mast cell and leads to the release of mediators, such as histamine, tryptase, and serotonin, as well as cytokines, chemokines, and lipid mediators, resulting in acute allergic symptoms.
