    PPS number

    You have a PPS number if you have ever been born in Ireland, employed in Ireland or used social welfare services. This includes child benefit payments. You can find your PPS number on: 1. payslips 2. public services card 3. medical card or GP visit card 4. European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) 5. Drugs Payment Scheme card 6. letters from the Revenue Commissioners or the Department of Social Protection, including those related to child benefit payments

    Try to find your PPS number yourself on the documents above. If you still cannot find your PPS number, phone the Department of Social Protection to ask for it. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will have to do this for you.

    Do not have a PPS number

    You need a PPS number to register for your COVID-19 vaccine online. If you do not have a PPS number, call the COVID-19 helplineto register by phone instead. The best time to call is between 1pm and 6pm. You will get through to an operator quicker.
